Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights starting today, Saturday and Sunday of this week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. The event will continue for three consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees. Donations will be accepted to support WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteer community outreach programs. Flocked and artificial trees will not be accepted. Community Recycle Event in Toledo
Toledo volunteers along with the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility, and the Lewis County Parks & Recreation Department are offering a Community Recycle Event in Toledo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 at South County Regional Park. During the event, Lewis County residents will have the opportunity to drop off scrap metal, appliances (two per household, please), glass bottles and jars, unwanted household hazardous waste, TVs (two per household, please), computer monitors, CPUs, fluorescent lights (up to 10 per household, please), and passenger or light truck tires (up to 12 per household).
