  6. Scrap Metal Recycling Event near Vader and Winlock today

    Lewis County residents may recycle scrap metal and household appliances for free at the old solid waste drop box at 1105 Winlock-Vader Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7 at a special recycling event organized by the City of Vader and Lewis County Solid Waste Utility. Household appliances accepted in the recycling containers at the event include washers, dryers, hot water heaters, stoves/ranges, and dish washers.   7. Residents Can Recycle 5 Gallons of Used Motor Oil at Hazo Hut

    Residents may drop of household hazardous waste for free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia. Examples of household hazardous materials that can be dropped off are cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights. Residential customers may drop off up to five gallons of used motor oil when Hazo Hut is open. This limit is per household per daily visit.   8. Solid Waste Advisory Committee Meeting

    The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) will meet at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, in the large conference room of Lewis County Public Services, 2025 N.E. Kresky Ave., Chehalis. The SWAC is a group of volunteers who advise the Lewis County Board of Commissioners on solid waste management. The SWAC meets when there is a need to in the Public Services' large conference room.
