The Community Recycle Event will be at the old Meskill Drop Box between Chehalis and Pe Ell from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The turnoff for the event will be on the opposite side off Highway 6 near its intersection with the western end of River Road. The Construction and Special Programs Section is responsible for the following: Repair stream bank scour and erosion at bridges. Obtain regulatory agencies’ permits. Apply hydraulic techniques to stabilize and restore stream channels. Repair failed roadway prisms due to slides, sink holes, and waterway erosion. Coordinate repairs to river revetments by contractors and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Provide assistance as the Lewis County R.I.D. (Road Improvement District) Coordinator.
