Lewis County Law Enforcement Spring Clean-up Warrant Sweep.

On May 10th, 2018, deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, troopers from the Washington State Patrol, officers from Washington State Fish and Wildlife, and deputies with the United States Marshal Service arrested 19 suspects on warrants, and made two probable cause arrests yesterday during Spring Clean-up Warrant Sweep. The collaborative event was conducted to locate and arrest people with outstanding warrants in the Lewis County area.

The above mentioned law enforcement personnel assigned to the warrant sweep made 43 warrant service attempts, resulting in clearing multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants. While the main focus of the sweep was on local warrants, there were two fresh arrests for violation of a protection order and another for possession of heroin. There were also two suspects, who were located and arrested on warrants, which were wanted by our local United States Marshal Service Task Force.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Jail, Prosecutor’s Office, District Court, and a court contracted defense attorney were also involved, and instrumental in the efficiency of the operation.

Sheriff Robert Snaza said, “This event demonstrates the strong partnerships between Lewis County law enforcement, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the courts. Through this successful sweep we were able to increase public safety, while holding those accountable who break the law and evade capture.”
