Lewis County Planning Commission
Purpose The Planning Commission assists the Community Development department in carrying out its duties, including assistance in the preparation and execution of the comprehensive plan and the adoption of development regulations for Lewis County, Washington. The Planning Commission holds workshops and public hearings and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, whom ultimately vote to approve amendments to the County’s comprehensive plan and development regulations. The Property Management Section, of the Real Estate Services Division is responsible for managing (except operational matters) all real estate owned by Lewis County, Washington. It maintains the County road files and an inventory of all County-owned parcels. It acquires real estate and other property rights for various public purposes, evaluates the impact of requests to permanently encumber the property by easements, the grant of long-term leases, or the granting of temporary or indeterminate permits. Deputy Coroners
The Lewis County Coroner's Office employs Deputy Coroners who respond to locations where deaths have occurred in order to conduct medicolegal death investigations. Deputy Coroners are not law enforcement personnel but do work very closely in conducting investigations with all of the law enforcement agencies in the county. The Lewis County Coroner's Office currently has The Elected Coroner, Chief Deputy Coroner, one full-time Deputy Coroner, one part-time Deputy Coroner, and six on-call Deputy Coroners.
