    The DEA is sponsoring an unused medicine collection day. This program is free to the public. The event will take place at the Rochester Community Center located at 10140 U.S. Highway 12, Rochester, WA 98579. The hours of the event are 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Prescription medications and over the counter solid medications (tablets and capsules) are included in the program. Illegal substances will not be accepted.     Every year Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responds to preventable drowning deaths related to swimming and boating accidents. As warm weather approaches, the Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public of a few safety precautions before taking a dip in the waterways of Lewis County. Water temperatures in Lewis County are still in the mid 40’s on almost all waterways.
