U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Medicine Collection Day, 10am - 2pm
The DEA is sponsoring an unused medicine collection day. This program is free to the public. The event will take place at the Rochester Community Center located at 10140 U.S. Highway 12, Rochester, WA 98579. The hours of the event are 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Prescription medications and over the counter solid medications (tablets and capsules) are included in the program. Illegal substances will not be accepted. Community Recycle Event today at old Meskill Drop Box
The Community Recycle Event will be at the old Meskill Drop Box between Chehalis and Pe Ell from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The turnoff for the event will be on the opposite side off Highway 6 near its intersection with the western end of River Road. Sheriff's Office Hopes to Prevent Cold Water Drowning
Every year Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responds to preventable drowning deaths related to swimming and boating accidents. As warm weather approaches, the Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public of a few safety precautions before taking a dip in the waterways of Lewis County. Water temperatures in Lewis County are still in the mid 40’s on almost all waterways. Cold water shock and hypothermia are major concerns for anyone exposed to these types of water temperatures for any length of time. The Community Recycle Event will be at Pe Ell Town Hall, 111 Main St., Pe Ell, WA 98572. Residential customers can drop off the following items for proper disposal or recycling:Satellite Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Residential customers may drop off their unwanted or leftover cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and other household chemicals.
