    Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Washington State Board of Health (BOH) has extended the deadline for additional public input into changes to the state’s Retail Food Code (WAC 246-215). Public comment will now be accepted until September 29, 2020.BOH is required by law to update the Retail Food Code periodically to ensure it addresses current foodborne illness risks and best methods of prevention.     The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter (MRC) Volunteers will offer a series of composting workshops today at Salkum Library, 2480 US Hwy 12. Basic Composting will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Worm Composting will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Know Your Soils will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The general public is invited to attend any one of the workshops, or all of them.
