Lewis County Treasurer reminds public that property tax payments are due May 1

CHEHALIS – Lewis County property owners are reminded that first-half payments of 2023 taxes are due by May 1. Lewis County Treasurer Arny Davis said payment can be made online, in person, or mailed with a postmark by the due date.

Taxpayers have a variety of options for paying their property taxes:

  • Online: by clicking here.
  • Mail: Send check or money order payments to the Lewis County Treasurer, P.O. Box 509, Chehalis, WA 98532. Payments made by mail must be postmarked by May 1, 2023.
  • Drop off boxes: Payments can be dropped in the secure drop box located on the first floor foyer of the historic Lewis County courthouse near the Treasurer’s Office, and outside the north entrance to the courthouse at 351 NW North St. in Chehalis.
  • In Person: Payments can be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office inside the historic Lewis County Courthouse between 8 a.m. - noon and 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If paying by credit card, there is a 2.25% transaction fee and a flat fee of $3.50 for a Visa debit card payment.

As required by Washington State law, late fees and penalties will be charged for those who do not make their tax payment on time.
