  2. Sensitive Document Shredding Event in Pe Ell

    Sensitive Document Shredding: Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be recycled at a paper recycling facility. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14 at Pe Ell Town Hall, 111 Main St., Pe Ell, WA 98572 as part of Pe Ell's Community Recycle Event.

  4. Public hearing for the purpose of leasing solid waste transfer stations

    The Lewis County of Commissioners will host a public hearing on or after 10 a.m. March 11 in the Commissioners' hearing room on the second floor of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis. The purpose of the hearing is to consider renewal of the leases of its solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton to the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation.   5. Recycle up to 10 fluorescent bulbs at Hazo Hut today

    Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, is open today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residential customers can drop off the following items for free up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights, leftover household chemicals, and up to 5 gallons of used motor oil or antifreeze. The household hazardous waste collection facility is open every Wednesday and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  6. Document shredding available at Randle event today

    The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be at the Community Recycle Event at the Lewis County (Kiona) Road Shop, 8911 US Hwy 12, Randle May 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents may bring up to 5 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. This is a free community service. The shredded paper will be hauled to a paper recycling facility for processing. Funded in part by a Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance Grant from Department of Ecology.

  7. Hazo Hut can accept used antifreeze from residents today

    Lewis County residents can drop off a maximum of five gallons of used motor oil and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights at Hazo Hut at the transfer station in Centralia, 1411 S. Tower Ave. Unwanted household chemicals, excluding paint and PaintCare items (Please visit PaintCare.org to learn more about PaintCare items and find out where to drop off PaintCare items locally), and up to five gallons of used antifreeze can also be dropped off. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221.

    Composting is a little like baking a cake, and the WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter (MRC) Volunteers will teach you how to make compost or "black gold" in your own back yard!
