    Detectives with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office have been provided with an artist’s sketch in which they hope will help them identify the human remains found near Morton in April of this year. The artist’s rendering was made by studying the facial bones of the deceased female as an indication of what she may have looked like before her death.     Hazo Hut at the transfer station in Centralia, 1411 S. Tower Ave. is open today. Each household can drop off a maximum of five gallons of used motor oil and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights. Unwanted household chemicals, excluding paint and PaintCare items (Please visit PaintCare.org to learn more about PaintCare items and find out where to drop off PaintCare items locally), and up to five gallons of used antifreeze can also be dropped off. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment.

  10. About Lewis County Solid Waste Utility

    The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is a division of the Lewis County Department of Public Works. It operates transfer stations in Centralia and Morton, where all garbage collected in Lewis County gets dropped off and consolidated in containers to be hauled to a large landfill in Cowlitz County.LeMay is the hauler that collects curbside garbage as well as refuse from businesses, and brings it to one of the transfer stations.
