City of Chehalis Organics Permit Program
Chehalis residents living within the city limits have a drop off opportunity for yard waste. A resident may purchase a seasonal organics waste permit. This permit allows a resident to drop off yard waste material that will be composted at a location managed by the City of Chehalis. Please click here for the 2024 season information. Toxicology
In some cases, blood will be sent to a toxicology laboratory for testing to determine what substances may be in the decedent's system and what those levels are.This testing can take 4-6 weeks to come back at which point the results are sent to the assigned Forensic Pathologist who will use the results to make the final determination of cause and manner of the death. Unwanted chemicals can be turned in today in Morton
Residents may drop of household hazardous waste for free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the East Lewis County Transfer Station, 6745 U.S. Hwy 12, just east of Morton. Examples of household hazardous materials that can be dropped off are cleaners, lawn, garden, and pool chemicals.
