  5. Learn how to test your soil at workshop in Morton

    Plan to attend a WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter workshop to learn how to test your soil. By knowing your soil type and characteristics, you can make it better with compost.   6. Shred sensitive documents at Napavine Community Recycle Event

    The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be at the Community Recycle Event at the Lewis County Road Shop, 111 Pleasant Valley Road, Winlock, between Napavine and Winlock, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25. Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be hauled to a paper recycling facility for processing.

  8. Public hearing for the purpose of leasing solid waste transfer stations

    The Lewis County of Commissioners will host a public hearing on or after 10 a.m. March 11 in the Commissioners' hearing room on the second floor of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis. The purpose of the hearing is to consider renewal of the leases of its solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton to the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation.
