The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is a federal law that prohibits and seeks to eliminate sexual assaults and sexual misconduct in correctional institutions and community corrections settings. Lewis County Juvenile Court is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for youth. We have adopted a zero tolerance policy pertaining to any form of sexual misconduct and sexual harassment of youth. Master Gardener Class
We will be instructing 3 classes for the Master Gardener program education requirements. It will consist of an introduction to Noxious Weeds, their impacts, identification and prevention strategies. Followed by lesson on IPMs (Integrated Pest Management) systems and then we will end with lessons in herbicide; understanding the label, basic functions, and possibly some calibration instructions.

The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is looking for volunteers interested in serving on the Lewis County Planning Commission.The Lewis County Planning Commission assists Lewis County’s Community Development department in carrying out its duties, including helping prepare and execute the Comprehensive Plan and helping adopt development regulations. K-9 Narcotics Sniff Leads to Arrest
On 06-01-2024, at approximately 9:21 p.m., deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of State Route 505, Winlock. Deputy Kasinger and his K-9 partner Kimbo were requested to respond to the scene for a narcotics sniff, and upon being deployed K-9 Kimbo alerted on the vehicle. A search warrant was applied for and granted, resulting in the recovery of over 41 grams of methamphetamine and a meth pipe. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody.
