Free Appliance Recycling Event
Please note the following items; will be taken outside the main entrance to the central transfer station, refrigerators, freezers, computer towers, and monitors. The following items will be taken at Hand-N-Hand recycling on Floral Avenue and are as follows; stoves, washers, dryers, water heaters and dishwashers. All customers must be prepared to unload their own vehicles and material. NO GARBAGE, AIR CONDITIONERS, TELEVISIONS, OR OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR FREE AT THESE SPECIAL EVENTS. Hazo Hut is open today (2/1)
Hazo Hut at the transfer station in Centralia, 1411 S. Tower Ave. is open today. Each household can drop off a maximum of five gallons of used motor oil and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights. Unwanted household chemicals, excluding paint and PaintCare items (Please visit PaintCare.org to learn more about PaintCare items and find out where to drop off PaintCare items locally), and up to five gallons of used antifreeze can also be dropped off. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment.

Recycle paint for free at the SWW Fairgrounds
Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is partnering with Green Sheen Paint and the Southwest Washington Fair to offer a free paint recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop off unwanted paint cans and leftover paint. The event will take place in the Blue Pavilion Parking Lot at the Southwest Washington Fairground, 1909 S. Gold Street, Centralia, WA 98531. The event is open to residential and business customers. Pe Ell Community Recycle Event
A Community Recycle Event will offer Lewis County residents an opportunity to recycle several materials, shred sensitive documents, and offer proper disposal for others, on Sept. 25 at Pe Ell Town Hall, 111 Main St.Recycling opportunities will be available for the following commodities: televisions, computers, Styrofoam, and yard debris, and household hazardous waste collection will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the event, which is being sponsored by the Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility, the state Department of Ecology, and E-Cycle Washington.
