COURT FACILITATOR SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE FOR LEWIS COUNTY FAMILY LAW CASESThe Court Facilitator assists unrepresented parties work their way through the legal system to move family law cases to resolution.Beginning March, 2024, you can schedule an in person appointment with the Family Law Facilitator.There is a user fee of $25 for facilitator services that will need to be paid to the Clerk before the appointment is scheduled unless there is a prior determination of indigency. What is a Community Emergency Response Team? The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program that educates residents about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT members are trained to safely respond to an emergency on the family, neighborhood and community level, and can provide assistance when first responders are unavailable. LEWIS COUNTY VOLUNTEER GAL PROGRAMThe Lewis County Volunteer Guardian ad Litem Program (GAL) trains volunteers to be Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children going through dependency court. These volunteers speak in court on the child’s behalf, representing the best interests of the child, and relaying the child’s wishes to the judge. The GALs' also make recommendations for services that will help the child and the family work towards possible reunification, or to find an alternate safe and permanent home for the child.With the hope of provided services for all youth in need, the Juvenile Court is always looking for …

On 04/10/12 the Lewis County Coroner’s Office was awarded accreditation through the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME). This process began in 2011 and culminated with the inspection process on 04/10/12. We are now one of only five coroner’s offices in Washington State to have received accreditation through this association.The IAC&ME has established a set of accreditation standards and these encompass administration, facilities, forensics and investigative for a total of 130 standards.
