    The Lewis County SWAC meets at 1:00 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month in the Lewis County Public Works Building, 2025 NE Kresky Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532. If a regularly scheduled meeting lands on a holiday, members may elect to cancel the meeting or vote to meet on an alternate date.Meetings are open to the public, but during the current pandemic restrictions the meetings are only being offered online via Zoom.     When grant funding becomes available, Lewis County Code Enforcement and Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility Division partner to hold tire recycling events.At these events, passenger and light truck tires will be accepted for free, and the tires can be on or off the rim.     Recycle your worn out tires for free at two Lewis County Solid Waste Utility events, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 and 14 at Packwood Community Hall, 12935 U.S. Highway 12. Another tire recycling is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26, 27 and 28 at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 1909 S. Gold St. in Centralia.

    You may recycle a variety of items at a Lewis County Solid Waste Utility Community Recycle Event 10 a.m. to 2p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at South County Park, 212 Ray Rd. in Toledo.There'll be household hazardous waste and yard waste collection, electronics, scrap metal, tires and glass recycling, along with sensitive document shredding ( 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
