  3. Property Tax Payment Drop Box

    A Property Tax payment drop box is now available outside the historic courthouse. The box is located on the North side of the historic building at 351 NW North Street in Chehalis. Payments can be placed in the box 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.Please do not deposit cash.

    The application period for Fiscal Year 2013 has closed. The Board of County Commissioners is currently accepting applications for use of hotel/motel lodging tax funds for the 2013 budget year from organizations whose programs or activities promote tourism in the unincorporated Lewis County area. “Tourism Promotion” is defined as “activities designed to increase tourism, including but not limited to advertising, publicizing, or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting and welcoming tourists; and funding the marketing of special events designed to attract tourists.” These funds may no longer be used for the administrative costs of running an agency as …

    The Lewis County Auditor's Office offers the ability for applicants to begin the marriage application process from the comfort of their homes.     RCW 84.34Land owners who wish current use assessment for property tax purposes on lands eligible for classification under the Open Space program, must submit an application to the Lewis County Assessor's Office by December 31st. Applications taken in the calendar year prior to December 31st are inspected in the next year and either approved or denied. If the application is approved, it is taxed in the subsequent year.
