Basic Composting Class
WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers are hosting a Basic Home Composting Workshop at Centralia College East in Morton as part of the Repair & Sustainability Fair at 11 a.m. on March 22. Learn how to convert organic materials from your yard, garden, and kitchen into nutrient rich compost to improve your soil, promote healthy plants, and reduce pesky pests! Participants who are interested can enter their names into a drawing for a free compost bin. This event is free to the public. Support for this workshop is provided in part by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

Transfer stations open today; administration office closed
Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton are open regular hours today, Nov. 28. The administration office at the transfer station in Centralia, however, is closed. It will return to regular hours on Monday, Dec. 1.

Berteroa incana Hoary Alyssum - Plant is usually silvery-gray in appearance due to stellate hairs. 1-3.5 feet tall and functions as an upright annual, biennial, or short-lived perennial.Leaves: Plant has basal leaves that are larger and oblanceolate. Leaves gradually reduce in size moving up the stem with alternate leaf arrangement.Flowers: Blooming from May-August. Flowers bloom from the bottom up in simple or branches clusters. Motor Oil Recycling
What types of oils can be recycled as used motor oil? Motor oil is only accepted for recycling at the Central Transfer Station in Centralia on days that the Hazo Hut is open to the public.
