Shred sensitive documents in Vader today
Sensitive Document Shredding: Residents may bring up to 5 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16. There is a free community service. The shredded paper will be recycled at a paper recycling facility at the conclusion of the event. The event will take place in the parking lot of Dailey Storage, 110 7th St., Vader, WA 98593.

Recycle paint for free at the SWW Fairgrounds
Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is partnering with Green Sheen Paint and the Southwest Washington Fair to offer a free paint recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop off unwanted paint cans and leftover paint. The event will take place in the Blue Pavilion Parking Lot at the Southwest Washington Fairground, 1909 S. Gold Street, Centralia, WA 98531. The event is open to residential and business customers. The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be at the Community Recycle Event at the Lewis County Road Shop, 111 Pleasant Valley Road, Winlock, between Napavine and Winlock, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25. Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be hauled to a paper recycling facility for processing.

Hazo Hut can accept used antifreeze from residents today
Lewis County residents can drop off a maximum of five gallons of used motor oil and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights at Hazo Hut at the transfer station in Centralia, 1411 S. Tower Ave. Unwanted household chemicals, excluding paint and PaintCare items (Please visit PaintCare.org to learn more about PaintCare items and find out where to drop off PaintCare items locally), and up to five gallons of used antifreeze can also be dropped off. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221.
