Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221.

Sensitive Document Shredding Event (Vader)
The Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is partnering with the City of Vader to offer Lewis County residents a chance to have their sensitive documents shredded, and then recycled. The event will take place at the City of Vader Public Works Shop at 376 7th St. Each customer may bring up to 3 Bags or Boxes of sensitive documents they would like shredded. The documents are shredded in the truck, and then hauled to a paper recycling facility.

Leaf Exchange (12/2)
Rake up and bag your leaves so gardeners and composters can put them to good use. This is the final Leaf Exchange of the year! Bagged leaves may be dropped off on the event day. Leaves will be available for pickup each day on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers will be on hand to inspect leaves and help the event run smoothly.
