The Southwest Washington Fair is on, daily, through Aug. 20
CENTRALIA - The Lewis County Commissioners welcome you to the 2023 Southwest Washington Fair!Commissioner Sean Swope gave a red carpet welcome to everyone!Appreciation was given to county fair staff, volunteers, exhibitors and everyone attending the opening of the six-day community celebration.A ribbon cutting signified the official opening of the fair, which runs daily through Sunday, Aug. 20.

Chips for Trails in Vader
The Third Annual Chips for Trails event will take place at McMurphy Park off Annonen Road in Vader in celebration of Earth Day. The Vader Parks Board, volunteers and city staff will be collecting branches and brush for chipping during this time. The material will be chipped up and spread onto trails of the Vader park. During the event, Lewis County residents are permitted to drop off brush and branches to be chipped that are no larger than 5 inches in diameter. Special Meeting Notice: Lewis Co. Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 April 2023 Meeting
Pursuant to RCW 36.58.100 et seq., the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District (LCSWDD) No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation, was established by Ordinance 1124 (now LCC 8.15.150) in 1992, after Lewis County and all incorporated cities signed an interlocal agreement to form it. In addition to forming the district, the agreement established flow control, directing all solid waste generated in Lewis County to be disposed of at LCSWDD sites. Representatives from the cities and the County serve as the Executive Advisory Committee to the Disposal District Commissioners, who by statute are the Lewis County Commissioners.
