Disposal District board members discuss solid waste issues
Pursuant to RCW 36.58.100 et seq., the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District (LCSWDD)No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation, was established by Ordinance 1124 (now LCC 8.15.150) in 1992, after Lewis County and all incorporated cities signed an interlocal agreement to form it. In addition to forming the district, the agreement established flow control, directing all solid waste generated in Lewis County to be disposed of at LCSWDD sites. Representatives from the cities and the County serve as the Executive Advisory Committee to the Disposal District Commissioners, who by statute are the Lewis County Commissioners.The governing board of the LCSWDD #1 …

It is mostly a trailing perennial, though it can grow upright if climbing other plants.Leaves: Opposite and oval shaped. 1845-1847 United States Marshall Joe Meek became the first official Law Enforcement Officer in Lewis County. The northern county boundary was reset at the 49th parallel, the present United States/Canadian Border, in 1846. 1847-1848 John R. Jackson became the 1st elected Sheriff of Lewis County, which had a population of 275 in the first census. The Property and Evidence Office is located off-site from the Law and Justice Center. Property items may be picked up Monday through Friday (excluding Holidays) by appointment only. The Property and Evidence Division is responsible for the overall security, storage and proper disposition of evidence obtained by officers of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. The Property & Evidence Manager and one Support Technician II are assigned to the Property and Evidence Division.It is important to call and make an appointment for any release of property. Recycle Christmas trees and lights today
Residents can drop off their Christmas trees and burned out holiday lights today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Centralia transfer station at 1411 S. Tower Ave. The event will continue for three consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Please remove all decorations and tinsel from the trees.
