    Lewis County Sheriff's Marine Patrol vessel. CHEHALIS – In an effort to ensure safe recreation on Lewis County’s lakes and rivers, deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol Unit regularly visit Lake Mayfield, Riffe Lake, Mineral Lake, Lake Scanewa, and the Chehalis and Cowlitz Rivers. The boating enforcement officers conduct voluntary inspections at boat ramps, checking for the required safety equipment on board vessels. The inspection is intended as public education. The Weed Science Society of America defines a weed as a plant that causes economic losses or ecological damage, creates health problems for humans or animals, or is undesirable where it is growing.   9. County seeks applicants for its new Short Term Rentals (STR) Advisory Group

    The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is seeking volunteers interested in serving on the newly established Short Term Rentals (STR) Advisory Group.The 11-member group will provide guidance as the county implements its new requirements for short-term rentals. Beginning Jan. 1, anyone with a short-term rental (also known as an Air BnB) in unincorporated Lewis County will be required to register the rental through the county.
