    The Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County have officially opened the MRC Tool Bucket Library and the Floral Park Sustainability Park. They are inviting the public to an open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Floral Park Sustainability Project, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia, to learn about both community programs. The tool library is just like a book library, but it offers tools for checkout.     We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of LCSO K-9 Axel, who served our community from February 2013 until his retirement in August of 2021.Over the course of his career, K-9 Axel and his handler, now-Chief Rick Van Wyck, are credited with the successful capture of 39 suspects and the location of 117 articles of evidence and/or stolen property, as well as the discovery of 397.3 pounds of street drugs and over 1,600 Oxycodone pills, with a total value of over four million dollars.K-9 Axel passed away at home peacefully while surrounded by the Van Wyck family, on August …
