Leaf Event 2025: First Day!
Rake up and bag your leaves so gardeners and composters can put them to good use. Bagged leaves may be dropped off on the event day. Leaves will be available for pickup today on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. MRC Tool Bucket Library Open House
The Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County have officially opened the MRC Tool Bucket Library and the Floral Park Sustainability Park. They are inviting the public to an open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Floral Park Sustainability Project, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia, to learn about both community programs. The tool library is just like a book library, but it offers tools for checkout. Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1
Pursuant to RCW 36.58.100 et seq., the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District (LCSWDD) No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation, was established by Ordinance 1124 (now LCC 8.15.150) in 1992, after Lewis County and all incorporated cities signed an interlocal agreement to form it. In addition to forming the district, the agreement established flow control, directing all solid waste generated in Lewis County to be disposed of at LCSWDD sites. Representatives from the cities and the County serve as the Executive Advisory Committee to the Disposal District Commissioners, who by statute are the Lewis County Commissioners.The governing board of the LCSWDD …

The Construction and Special Programs Section is responsible for the following: Repair stream bank scour and erosion at bridges. Obtain regulatory agencies’ permits. Apply hydraulic techniques to stabilize and restore stream channels. Repair failed roadway prisms due to slides, sink holes, and waterway erosion. Coordinate repairs to river revetments by contractors and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Provide assistance as the Lewis County R.I.D. (Road Improvement District) Coordinator. The goal of the Tuberculosis Program is to stop the spread of tuberculosis. This is done through targeted testing, early diagnosis and treatment. What services are provided by the Health Department?
