Recycle paint for free at the SWW Fairgrounds
Lewis County Solid Waste Utility is partnering with Green Sheen Paint and the Southwest Washington Fair to offer a free paint recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop off unwanted paint cans and leftover paint. The event will take place in the Blue Pavilion Parking Lot at the Southwest Washington Fairground, 1909 S. Gold Street, Centralia, WA 98531. The event is open to residential and business customers. Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. Lewis County Transfer Stations in Centralia and Morton are closed today Thursday, June 19) in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. This closure includes the Administration Office in Centralia. The transfer stations and Administration Office will resume regular hours on Friday, June 20.

Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1
Pursuant to RCW 36.58.100 et seq., the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District (LCSWDD) No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation, was established by Ordinance 1124 (now LCC 8.15.150) in 1992, after Lewis County and all incorporated cities signed an interlocal agreement to form it. In addition to forming the district, the agreement established flow control, directing all solid waste generated in Lewis County to be disposed of at LCSWDD sites. Representatives from the cities and the County serve as the Executive Advisory Committee to the Disposal District Commissioners, who by statute are the Lewis County Commissioners.The governing board of the LCSWDD …
