Learn how to Save Food, Save Money at Centralia College
In the United States, a typical family of four throws away an estimated $3,000 in groceries each year. Americans throw away approximately 325 pounds of food per person each year. Organics is the largest category of materials thrown away in landfills in Washington state. Lewis County Solid Waste staff and WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composters will share more about these statistics at a presentation at 11 a.m. in at Centralia College's TransAlta Commons B in honor of Earth Week activities.
