    Empty Pesticide Container Recycling Event: October 1 & 2, 2018 A recycling event to accept empty pesticide containers will be held October 1 & 2, 2018 from 9AM to 12PM at the Lewis County Solid Waste Services, Central Transfer Station. The Central Transfer Station is located at 1411 South Tower Avenue, in Centralia, WA. The event will accept only empty pesticide containers (jugs, buckets & drums) that are cleaned, triple rinsed with labels and caps removed (no metal or rubber linings).   7. Styrofoam Recycling

    Free Styrofoam recycling is taking place at the Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia. Styrofoam must be clean, dry, free of all tape and labels. Look for the #6 Recycling Symbol or EPS inside the symbol. If you are unsure, bend the material. It should break, and you will notice individual beads of Styrofoam.   10. Litter Clean-up Programs

    Adopt-A-Road Program The Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility's Adopt-A-Road Program is now available for community groups or like-minded friends and neighbors to pick up litter along county roads. Organizations and individuals can submit an application to adopt a section of road to clean at least four times a year, or sign up for a one-time clean up of a community, neighborhood, or park. Lewis County Community Litter Program The Lewis County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Utility, operates a litter pick-up program that uses inmate labor from the Lewis County Jail.
