Marriage Licensing
Marriage license applications can be completed Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.The cost of a marriage license may vary from county to county. In Lewis County the fee is $172.00, payable by cash or check only. Credit and debit cards are not accepted. Marriage licenses must be applied for at least three (3) days prior to the marriage and are valid for 60 days anywhere within the state of Washington. Sheriff's Office Receives WASPC Accreditation Award
Lewis County Sheriff’s Office received formal notice that they are an official WASPC (Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs) Accredited Agency on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at a WASPC Conference held in Yakima. The accreditation process took the Sheriff’s Office over a year to complete. Only fifty (approximately) agencies statewide have met the accreditation standards and have been awarded the accredited agency status.
