Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. This time is reserved for residential customers only. Business customers must make an appointment by calling 360-740-1221.

Documents added to the Mitigation Site Watering Contract
Two new documents have been added to the Mitigation Site Watering Contract on the Lewis County Contract Ads and Calls for Bid page. The bids are due June 04, 2019 by 11:00 am at the Lewis County Commissioner's Office, (Lewis County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Room 210, 351 NW North St, Chehalis, WA, 98532). Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) will meet beginning at 8 a.m. The first 30 minutes of the meeting will be an overview of the presentation process as well as a review of committee expectations.The applicants for 2026 funding will give their presentations beginning at 8:30 a.m.Applicants will be allowed time for a 5-minute presentation, followed by a 9-minute question-and-answer period. Scrap Metal & Tool Recycling Event in Winlock (5/22)
Residents may drop off scrap metal and household appliances, such as washers, dryers, hot water heaters, dish washers, stoves, refrigerators, freezers. This event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old Winlock Drop Box, 1105 Winlock-Vader Road, Winlock, WA 98596. Public hearing for the purpose of leasing solid waste transfer stations
The Lewis County of Commissioners will host a public hearing on or after 10 a.m. March 11 in the Commissioners' hearing room on the second floor of the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis. The purpose of the hearing is to consider renewal of the leases of its solid waste transfer stations in Centralia and Morton to the Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1, a quasi-municipal corporation.
