Residents may drop of household hazardous waste for free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia. Examples of household hazardous materials that can be dropped off are cleaners, lawn, garden, pool chemicals, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights. Chips for Trails Event in Vader
The City of Vader is hosting its annual Chips for Trails Event at McMurphy Park on Annonen Road from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 19. Lewis County residents can drop off chippable branches and limbs that are no larger than 6 inches in diameter. This material will be chipped to spread on park trails. Any interested in volunteering or more information, please call 360-218-4257.

Lewis County Transfer Stations are open Memorial Day
Lewis County Transfer Stations are open regular hours on Memorial Day, May 31. Centralia is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Morton is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both sites close their in-bound gates 15 minutes prior to facility closure.Transfer stations are only closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, July 4, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
