Big slide repair project on Little Hanaford Road
Crews working on slide repair in the 2100 block of Little Hanaford Rd., east of Centralia. CHEHALIS – A team of Lewis County Public Works Department specialists and a contractor from Centralia are working systemically to replace a 120-foot segment of Little Hanaford Road, east of Centralia.In January 2022, the roadway exhibited signs of slope instability, including severe cracking pavement. After a geotechnical investigation, it was determined that the most economically efficient method for repair was to excavate the affected area and dig more than 20-feet deep before backfilling the area with stable foundation material, in what’s called infill buttress …

Pre-Registration Program:The Lewis County Coroner’s Office (LCCO) has this program available where a person who is under a physician’s care for a documented long-term illness and who is receiving care (either from family or from a facility) can be enrolled in the pre-registration program.To be added to the pre-registration list the primary care physician has to complete and submit and a Lewis County Coroner’s Office Pre-Registration form that contains the patient’s demographics, the next of kin names and contact, and the mortuary of choice. Internet expansion project in Winlock enters engineering phase

CHEHALIS –The Lewis County Commissioners received an update from ToledoTel Vice President and COO Dale Merten Tuesday morning on their public-private partnership to expand high-speed internet services in and around Winlock.Using a $23.5 million competitive grant it secured from the Washington State Broadband Office, Lewis County launched efforts to extend internet service to more than 2,300 homes and businesses in the Winlock area. Forest Patrol Assessments
If you are a property owner in unincorporated Lewis County you may be assessed a forest patrol fee for each parcel you own. If your parcel is under 50 acres you are billed a flat fee for each parcel you own. This money is collected by the county treasurer and remitted to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. If you have more than one rural parcel under 50 acres in the same legal ownership and have paid more than one flat rate fee, you are entitled to a refund. Transfer Stations are open, but County business offices are closed
Lewis County business offices, including the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility Administration Office at the transfer station in Centralia, are closed today in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. The transfer stations in Centralia and Morton, however, are open today. Lewis County transfer stations in Centralia and Morton will be closed on the actual Veterans Day holiday, Saturday, Nov. 11.
