Construction moves forward on bringing high-speed internet service to parts of south Lewis County
WINLOCK - The Winlock-area broadband expansion project is a public-private partnership between Lewis County and ToledoTel with the assistance of a $23.5 million grant from the Washington State Broadband Office including $2.3 million from ToledoTel.Robinson Brothers Construction began work along Lane Dr. and Meier Rd. in Winlock, with hopes of extending the future network by adding three miles each week. Human Remains Found on Joerk Road in Randle
Human remains were located by a property owner in the 100 block of Joerk Road in Randle on Thursday morning, September 22, 2011. Detectives of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office say it is a possibility that the remains could belong to a missing person reported to the Sheriff’s Office in April of 2011; however, there is not a positive identification at this time. The remains were located approximately 1.5 miles from where the missing person was last seen. East end residents can shred sensitive documents in Randle
The LeMay Mobile Shredding truck will be at the Community Recycle Event at the Lewis County (Kiona) Road Shop, 8911 US Hwy 12, Randle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be hauled to a paper recycling facility for processing.

Final Day for Comments on the Lewis County Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Plan draft update
Today is the last day to submit comments on the draft 2023 Lewis County Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Plan! This plan includes strategies to manage waste in the county over the next 20 years with more in-depth focus on the next six years. Lewis County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Utility has been working with the Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) and the consulting firm Herrera Environmental to update the document.
