The Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) meets at 1:00 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month in the Lewis County Public Works Building, 2025 NE Kresky Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532. If a regularly scheduled meeting lands on a holiday, the chairperson may elect to cancel the meeting or members may vote to meet on an alternate date.Meetings are open to the public, but during the current pandemic restrictions the meetings are being held in person in a socially distanced setting, masked up if not vaccinated, or unmasked if vaccinated, or offered online via Zoom. Delays expected at Central Transfer Station starting Oct 8, 2018
Expect delays at the Central Transfer Station in Centralia while contractors repair the tipping floor, beginning Oct. 8, 2018, through the end of November. Customers wanting to avoid the construction will be directed to another disposal location at the transfer station. An alternative during construction would be to call LeMay Enterprises and subscribe to curbside service at your place of residence. For curbside service, please call LeMay Enterprises, 360-736-4769.

Please . . . REMOVE ALL DECORATIONS & TINSEL.NO FLOCKED OR ARTIFICIAL TREES WILL BE ACCEPTED. We reserve the right to refuse trees that do not comply. You may dispose of flocked, artificial or decorated trees at the transfer station where regular fees will be charged. Wreaths must be free of ribbon and decorations.. Today Hazo Hut is open
Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, is open today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accept unwanted household chemicals, up to 10 burned out fluorescent lights and up to 5 gallons of used motor oil or antifreeze. The household hazardous waste collection facility is open every Wednesday and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bring sensitive documents for shredding to Repair & Sustainability Fair
Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be recycled at a paper recycling facility. The event will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the spring Repair & Sustainability Fair at the SWFT Center at Centralia College, 807 W. Pear St.

Lewis County Transfer Stations Open on July 5
Lewis County Transfer Stations in Centralia and Morton will be open regular hours on July 5. Centralia will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Morton will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Inbound gates for both sites close 15 minutes prior to facility closure.The Administration Office at the Centralia site, however, will be closed. The Administration Office will return to regular hours on Tuesday, July 6.
