About the Auditor's Office
The Auditor’s Office consists of four departments,Financial ServicesDocument RecordingVehicle LicensingElectionsThe Auditor is responsible for examining all county financial transactions to ensure adequate coverage and proper reporting of expenditures for county funds. As county recorder, the Auditor is responsible for recording and preserving in perpetuity land ownership documents, surveys, plats, land corner records, state and federal tax liens, uniform commercial codes and other miscellaneous ordinances and legal records. The Auditor is also responsible for the licensing of motor vehicles in the county, and issues marriage licenses.Administrated by the County Auditor, the Elections Department conducts all general and special elections in accordance …

The Lewis County Auditor's Office offers the ability for applicants to begin the marriage application process from the comfort of their homes. By clicking on the link below, applicants will be able to fill in the necessary information for the marriage application and certificate.After completely filling in all fields and pressing submit, the applicants will be given a marriage application number to bring with them to the Auditor's Office. Forest Patrol Assessments
If you are a property owner in unincorporated Lewis County you may be assessed a forest patrol fee for each parcel you own. If your parcel is under 50 acres you are billed a flat fee for each parcel you own. This money is collected by the county treasurer and remitted to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. If you have more than one rural parcel under 50 acres in the same legal ownership and have paid more than one flat rate fee, you are entitled to a refund. Lewis County Superior Court Judges are authorized by law to perform wedding ceremonies in the state of Washington. Wedding ceremonies are performed at the Lewis County Courthouse Monday through Friday at 5:00 p.m., and may also be performed at other locations and times, subject to the availability of the Judges. Mission Statement:It is the mission of the Noxious Weed Board to serve as responsible stewards of Lewis County land and agriculture, and to protect and preserve our ecological resources against the harms of noxious weeds.
