Silybum marianum Milk Thistle - A large, sparsely branched thistle growing up to 6 feet tall. Easy to identify, due to the leaf patterning.Leaves: Alternate, deeply lobed, and pointed leaves. Leaves have a very noticeable white and dark green marbling. The basal leaves can get up to 20 inches long and 10 inches wide.Flowers: Flowers bloom from May-August. Earth Day 2022 celebration at Centralia College
The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers, the Lewis County Solid Waste Utility, the Centralia Clean Team, Department of Ecology's Use Food Wisely Program and E-Cycle Washington Program will be in the TransAlta Commons at Centralia College from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18. Come by to learn more about these programs, and how these groups keep Lewis County's, and Washington state's environment clean. Learn how you can volunteer, too.
