Lewis County expects to save thousands from new energy efficient equipment

CHEHALIS – Construction on new energy efficient upgrades to the Lewis County Jail are being completed below cost estimates and ahead of schedule. The contractor on the job has calculated that the new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment could save the county upwards to $50,000 annually in energy costs.“We’re replacing aging equipment with a modern energy efficient system,” said Lewis County Capital Facilities Manager Doug Carey. …

Plan to attend Tools, Treasures & Treats, the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library. The two-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Floral St., Centralia. Drop off yard waste for FREE today at Lewis County Transfer Stations! This event runs through May 13. CUSTOMERS MUST CHECK IN WITH THE SCALE HOUSE TO GET WEIGHED AT EACH SITE. THE WEIGHT OF THIS MATERIAL MUST BE TRACKED! In Centralia, grass clippings and leaves must be separated from chippable debris, such as branches.
