Learn how worms can help you save money and help the environment. Red wigglers can eat a lot of your kitchen waste that they turn into great fertilizer you can add to your household plants and outdoor gardens. The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers will share their knowledge about red wigglers at this workshop at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7 via Zoom. Basic Compost Workshop in Morton
WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers are hosting a Basic Home Composting Workshop at Centralia College East in Morton as part of the Repair & Sustainability Fair. Learn how to convert organic materials from your yard, garden, and kitchen into nutrient rich compost to improve your soil, promote healthy plants, and reduce pesky pests! Participants who are interested can enter their names into a drawing for a free compost bin. This event is free to the public. Support for this workshop is provided in part by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

Know Your Soils Workshop
Know Your Soils: Attend this WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter workshop to learn how to test your soil. By knowing your soil type, you can make it better with compost. After registering, you will receive instructions on how to prepare a soil sample and what other materials you will need for the class. The registration deadline to attend the in-person class, and receive a free soil-test kit was Feb. 16. You may still be able to watch the workshop via Zoom.
