Conium maculatum Poison Hemlock - Very tall biennial that can grow up to around 12 feet in height. Stems will have purple splotches that help with identification.Leaves: Leaves are fern-like, toothed and finely divided. Detectives with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office have been provided with an artist’s sketch in which they hope will help them identify the human remains found near Morton in April of this year. The artist’s rendering was made by studying the facial bones of the deceased female as an indication of what she may have looked like before her death. The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board will be meeting on February 16, 2016 to adopt the 2016 Lewis County Noxious Weed list. 11-Year-Old Tacoma Boy Drowns in Cowlitz River, Randle
On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at approximately 10:58 a.m., Lewis County deputies and members of the Swift Water Rescue Team responded to the 200 block of Burton Creek Road in Randle, Washington, in reference to a reported drowning. Deputies learned that an 11-year-old boy, who was wearing his life jacket, had been paddleboarding with his father in the Cowlitz River near Carr Road when he struck a logjam and fell off the paddleboard.
