    Mandatory Boating Safety Education became a reality for Washington Boaters starting January of 2008. Boaters under the age of 26 years old are now required to possess a valid boating safety card when operating a vessel with a motor of 15 horsepower or greater.     PRESS RELEASE Lewis County Public Works would like to announce that the Jackson Highway Bridge crossing the Newaukum River will be open to traffic on Friday, February 18, 2011, at 4 p.m. Future work will occur, with flagger-controlled, one-way traffic during working hours and unrestricted two-way traffic during non-working hours. The bridge replacement contract was awarded to Rognlin’s Incorporated (Aberdeen, WA) in the amount of $2,153,027.
