We want your comments on the draft 2023 Lewis County Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Plan! This plan includes strategies to manage waste in the county over the next 20 years with more in-depth focus on the next six years. Lewis County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Utility has been working with the Lewis County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) and the consulting firm Herrera Environmental to update the document. The Lewis County Solid Waste Disposal District No. 1 will hold a public hearing on or after 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, in the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners' hearing room at the Lewis County Courthouse, 351 N.W. North St., Chehalis, WA 98532. The public hearing is to receive public testimony on the proposal of the following rate increases for certain materials accepted at transfer stations operated by Lewis County. The proposed increases:*$120/ton with a minimum fee set at $35 for 580 pounds or less (to include a 3.6 percent refuse tax) for municipal solid waste*$140/ton with a …

Permit Fees Increasing effective January 1, 2025On November 12, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners approved increases to certification and permit application fees to help balance budgets for the departments of Community Development, Public Works and Public Health & Social Services.The fee increases will go into effect on January 1, 2025.
