    Lewis County and its Southwest Washington fairgrounds staff are happy to announce that the talents and knowledge of local youth will be showcased at the annual Spring Youth Fair, May 5-7 at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds.“We expect hundreds of kids, from Lewis County and as far away as Eastern Washington and Oregon, to show fairgoers the activities they’re involved in,” said youth fair co-founder Lee Coumbs of Centralia.

  7. Chehalis River Knotweed Treatments

    Chehalis Knotweed Treatments have begun! After surveying Rock and Halfway Creek tributaries, the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control team has started Knotweed treatments in Pe Ell. If you have any questions about knotweed control or the long term treatment plan, please reach out to us at Weeds@Lewiscountywa.gov. Because of its ability to easily spread downstream, we must start our efforts at the tributaries of the headwaters of the Chehalis river.

The solicitation seeks a Washington State licensed behavioral health agency to partner with the Lewis County Drug Court Programs to provide assessment and treatment of substance use disorders and diagnosis and treatment of mental illness in a population of up to 80 individuals (age 18+), at any given time.     A free tire recycling event will take place Nov. 5, 6 and 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 2555 N. National Ave., Chehalis. The event will accept 15 tires per person. Acceptable tires include: passenger and light truck tires on or off the rim, and semi-truck tires off the rim.
