Lewis County residents can drop off unwanted household chemicals, up to five gallons of used motor oil, up to five gallons of antifreeze, and up to 10 burned out fluorescent light bulbs at Hazo Hut at the Lewis County Central Transfer Station, 1411 S. Tower Ave., Centralia, today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Hazo Hut is closing early today because of the predicted storm. These are the limits for each household each day that the Hazo Hut is open. Plan to attend Tools, Treasures, Treats & Cider, the second day of the Master Recycler Composters of Lewis County's first tool and bake sale to raise money to support the new MRC Tool Bucket Library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Floral Park Sustainability Park, 103 E. Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Collection Event: Morton
Lewis County residents may drop off unwanted household chemicals and fluorescent lights from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the East Lewis County Transfer Station in Morton as part of the Utility's Household Hazardous Waste Satellite Events. Other recycling opportunities at this event: Styrofoam recycling and E-Cycle Recycling. The event will accept block and food service Styrofoam as long it is clean, empty, dry. Please keep like materials together in a clear plastic bag for drop-off. For E-Cycle items (televisions smaller than 55 inches, CPUs, and monitors) there is a limit of two items per household.

Radio Communications
Radio Service staff maintain and service a network of 22 communications sites throughout the county that provide first responder radio coverage.Additionally, they provide local trouble-shooting services (and limited technical assistance) to outside vendors to assist in identifying and making emergency repairs when equipment fails in the Communications Center.In 2019, they continued maintenance of mobile, portable and fixed base radio equipment for the county and agencies supported by contract.The Radio Services Administrator manages the Homeland Security equipment grants.
