Morton transfer station accepts household chemicals today
Residential customers can drop off unwanted/leftover household cleaners, and lawn, garden and pool chemicals. They can also drop off up to five gallons of motor oil, up to five gallons of antifreeze and up to 10 burned out fluorescent bulbs.

Maintenance & Operations
Lewis County Maintenance & Operations is comprised of two separate divisions; Fleet Services and Road Maintenance. The Fleet Services Division is responsible for purchasing, liquidating, and mechanically maintaining the entire fleet of rolling stock and off road equipment. Currently, Fleet Services maintains and services vehicles at two separate locations. The Road Maintenance Division is responsible for providing cost effective, safe travel over the 1,053 miles of county roadway in Lewis County. Impatiens glandulifera Policeman's Helmet - An herbaceous annual that is smooth and hairless. It can range from 3 - 10 feet tall.Leaves: Usually 3 leaves per node and are usually alternate, opposite, or whorled. Leaf shape is oblong to ovate to elliptic. About 6 inches long and sharply toothed margins.Flowers: Flowers bloom from July to September. Irregular flowers that are shaped similar to a British policeman's helmet. Conium maculatum Poison Hemlock - Very tall biennial that can grow up to around 12 feet in height. Stems will have purple splotches that help with identification.Leaves: Leaves are fern-like, toothed and finely divided. Look very similar to wild carrot leaves.Flowers: Flowers bloom from April-August.
