    During the 2025 legislative session, the Washington State Legislature passed HB 1858 which increases the recording fee to $301.00 for recording an assignment, substitution, or appointment of trustee.     Chehalis residents living within the city limits have a drop off opportunity for yard waste. A resident may purchase a seasonal organics waste permit.     Residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes or sensitive documents they would like to have shredded. There is no charge for this service. The shredded paper will be recycled at a paper recycling facility. The event will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the Repair & Sustainability Fair at Centralia College East, 701 Airport Way, Morton.
