Mandatory Boating Safety Education Class Offered in Lewis County August 7, 2010 Mandatory Boating Safety Education became a reality for Washington Boaters starting January of 2008. Boaters under the age of 26 years old are now required to possess a valid boating safety card when operating a vessel with a motor of 15 horsepower or greater. 2016 Budget is Adopted by the Board of County Commissioners
The 2016 budget was adopted on December 7th, 2015. This action culminates five months of collective work by all departments and elected offices in Lewis County. Budget meetings were held in September and October which allowed each elected official and department director to discuss their individual budgets with the County Commissioners. The Lewis County Segregation/Mapping processes recorded deeds and other conveyance instruments for real property to verify recorded legal descriptions, create, segregate and combine tax parcels. The County Geographic Information System (GIS) database is updated and kept at a current status. The Department updates ownership on all real estate transfers. The method of acquiring title is determined, ownership and legal descriptions are verified, and land area computed when necessary.
