Commissioner Paul Strophy
Commissioner Paul Strophy was born and raised in Olympia, Washington. He attended St. Michael’s School, Jefferson Middle School and Capital High School, graduating in 1992. Paul went to the University of Washington and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 2006. He started private practice in Lewis County from 2006 until early 2010 when he moved his practice to Olympia, but continued to practice law in Lewis, Thurston and neighboring counties handling general civil, family law, real estate and criminal defense cases.
Paul eventually specialized in adult criminal and juvenile defense. Commissioner Strophy served as a pro tem judge in Centralia and Olympia Municipal Courts and also served as a pro-tem superior court commissioner in Thurston County from 2018 to 2020 and in Lewis County starting in 2020 before being appointed as Lewis County Superior Court’s full-time constitutional court commissioner in 2022.
