Commissioner

Cailen Cecil was born and raised in Yelm, Washington where she attended Yelm High School, graduating in 1994. Cailen earned an Associates of Arts from Pierce College (1996), Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Washington (1998), and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law (2002). Cailen began her legal career representing survivors of domestic violence at the Legal Aid Society of Lubbock in Texas. In 2004, Cailen returned to Washington State where she practiced law on a part-time basis as a private practitioner in Yelm. In 2008, Cailen began working as a deputy prosecutor here in Lewis County. In 2010, she began working for the Thurston County Prosecutor's Office. Cailen has handled all types of criminal cases, but for most of her career she has specialized in domestic violence cases.

Cailen was appointed as Lewis County Superior Court’s full-time constitutional court commissioner in December 2024
