CHEHALIS – The Lewis County Sheriff's Office will be moving to a new online process for applying for or renewing your Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

Beginning Monday, May 15, applicants will now have the ability to access the Lewis County Sheriff's Office website and select the link for applying for a new, or renewal of your current CPL. Applicants for a new CPL will also be able to schedule the required fingerprint appointment, as well as pay online.

The new process will create a more interactive experience that will allow the applicant to view the status of their application, as well as be notified upon approval or denial. The applicant will also be able to electronically upload any documents needed for the application process. Once an application is approved, a new “hard card” style license will be provided. The online process will also allow citizens greater flexibility to apply and submit their application any time of day, even during non-business hours of the Sheriff's Office.

For citizens needing fingerprints not related to Concealed Pistol Licensing, there will also be a link on the Sheriff’s Office webpage to schedule appointments and pay online for these services as well.

"I'm excited for the implementation of this new online application system, which should make the process easier and more accessible for our citizens, especially those in some of our more rural communities," stated Lewis County Sheriff Rob Snaza.
