CHEHALIS - The Lewis County Broadband Action Team (LCBAT), a citizens’ group conducting local broadband planning to qualify Lewis County for federal broadband expansion funds, is seeking information from community groups, internet service providers, and institutions to support the effort.
“The LCBAT has only a short time to gather a lot of information for its broadband action plan and digital equity plans,” Eric Eisenberg, an infrastructure specialist for Lewis County said. “These plans are vital to qualify Lewis County for billions of dollars of federal broadband funds. Lewis County needs more broadband, so we want those funds.”
The surveys range from just a few minutes (for community anchor institutions) to up to half an hour (for potential broadband asset owners). A group or entity can fill out more than one type of survey, if applicable.
Links to the surveys are shown below and on this flyer, and hardcopies are available on request to lewiscountybat@gmail.com. If you have questions or need support to complete the surveys, please contact Willie Painter at williep@lcpud.org.
More information about the planning efforts across the state can be found at https://broadband.wsu.edu.
The group is asking local entities to fill out surveys corresponding to how they fit into the broadband and digital equity picture. Scan the QR code or click on the survey links:
- One survey is for community anchor institutions where large numbers of people use the internet, like schools, libraries, hospitals, churches, and other community-gathering locations.
