Lewis County offices closed June 19 in observance of Juneteenth
Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States with enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the remaining slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865.
The city of Centralia is holding a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 17 at George Washington Park.
